Welcome

I'm Chris Dent, late of the Information Science program at Indiana University. Prior to that I spent a few years working as a sysadmin and programmer at IU and Kiva Networking.

After completing my degree I helped start Blue Oxen Associates where I did a lot with PurpleNumbers. After that I returned to IU to be a programmer and hack on organizational communication modes to improve effectiveness and transparency. In the fall of 2004 I joined the gang at Socialtext.

This web page is presented with a system called Warp (check out AboutWarp) that I developed that plays with interlinking in constrained domains (see also OtherWarps and ThingsLikeWarp). Some links on the pages are standard HTML links to resources, these show up like this. Other links are links into the database of information that drives Warp. Warp was originally written as the backend of project demonstrating the use of Hypertext as a Knowledge Enhancement Tool.

My warp was superceeded by a combined blog and wiki that was updated far more frequently than this page. But then I turned them both off for a server move and didn't turn them back on. The blog content is still there, but the wiki is down until I make some other things go. I have grand plans but little time.
